I'm a science fiction enthusiast (geek!) so looking at the sky, be they clouds, stars or a good storm is a habit. Nebula are things that dwarf our solar system, cathedrals of light that span lightyears. The vast dust clouds are where stars are born, nurseries for huge balls of gas that burn for billions of years. In painting terms there's a lot of subtlety to the techniques I used and it all changed shape several times before I was finished with it. Check out the YouTube time lapse here -
